Zombie Army 4 Dead War Nintendo Switch

Is there a Zombie Army 4: Dead War Nintendo Switch version?

If you’ve read our Zombie Army 4: Dead War preview, you’ll already know that we likened the game to “co-op comfort food,” which is a style of gameplay that’s a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch. With this in mind, is there a Zombie Army 4: Dead War Nintendo Switch release on the horizon? Or are fans of Nintendo’s hybrid console destined to go without their latest Nazi zombie-slaying fix? Here’s what you need to know.

Is Zombie Army 4: Dead War coming to Switch?

Unfortunately, Zombie Army 4: Dead War developer Rebellion hasn’t announced any plans to bring the game to Nintendo Switch. It’s currently scheduled for a Tuesday, February 4 launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Although that isn’t the best news, there is hope that a Zombie Army 4 Switch version will be released somewhere down the line. Five years after its initial March 2015 launch, Rebellion’s Zombie Army Trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch at an unspecified time in “early 2020.”

The Switch port of Zombie Army Trilogy boasts exclusive features like 2-4 player local wireless play, motion controls, and HD Rumble support. If these additions help the game to achieve success on the platform, it could be possible that its sequel will receive the same treatment.

Of course, that’s merely speculation with nothing official having been announced, but by no means an unreasonable stretch of the imagination. Rebellion has also ported past Sniper Elite games to Nintendo Switch, which just goes to show that they see value in putting their titles on the unique handheld system.

With Zombie Army 4: Dead War post-launch support having already been outlined, it’s also possible that an eventual Dead War Switch port could come bundled with all of the DLC as standard. Historically, good things come to those who wait (for definitive editions of video games).
