One of the coolest things about the Oculus Quest is that it can be used as both a standalone VR device and can also be used with a PC with Oculus Link. Unfortunately, using Oculus Link with The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners doesn’t work if you’ve bought the Steam version currently. This is also true for those trying to play Saints & Sinners wirelessly via Virtual Desktop.
Does the Steam version of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners work with Oculus Quest via Oculus Link?
As of writing, the Steam version of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners won’t launch if you’re trying to play it on Oculus Quest via Oculus Link or if you’re trying to stream it wirelessly via Virtual Desktop.

When you try to launch the game through SteamVR, you’ll get the message “Oculus Rift and Rift S only supported in native mode.” If you try to start the game without SteamVR installed, you’ll just get a generic message stating that no compatible headset is detected.
Some users on the Saints & Sinners discussion board on Steam report that the game worked for them with Oculus Link. Still, I’ve been unable to replicate their results. Even after trying multiple cords and multiple computers, I continued getting the same error messages.

As of right now, the only way I’ve found to play The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners on Oculus Quest via Oculus Link is to purchase the game through the Oculus Store. Launching it from the Oculus app resulted in the game working correctly on the Quest for me.
If you’ve purchased The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners on Steam and found it won’t work with your Oculus Quest, you should be well within the refund window. The game currently costs the same on Steam as it does on the Oculus Store, so once you have your refund, you can purchase the Oculus version, and you should be good to go.
