Wolfenstein: Youngblood garnered somewhat of a mixed reception when it launched, to say the least, but even then it isn’t totally without merit. That makes it absolutely perfect Xbox Game Pass fodder and, lo and behold, it’s just been made available on Xbox One and also on PC via Game Pass Ultimate. Does the Wolfenstein: Youngblood Xbox Game Pass version come with a Buddy Pass allowing you to invite friends that don’t own the game or subscribe to Game Pass and play co-op for free, though?
Here’s everything you need to know about whether or not Wolfenstein: Youngblood Buddy Pass functionality comes with the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate versions.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood Xbox Game Pass | Is the Buddy Pass supported?
One of the highlights of Wolfenstein: Youngblood is its full campaign co-op support, making the Buddy Pass an ingenious addition. As great as it might be, unfortunately, the Xbox Game Pass versions of Wolfenstein: Youngblood do not support the Buddy Pass as standard. You can choose to add it, but this comes at a price.

The Buddy Pass was only ever included in Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Edition purchases and Game Pass just includes the standard version. For $9.99 you can buy the “Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Upgrade” via the Xbox Store, which will grant you a Buddy Pass to play with friends that don’t own the game or subscribe to Game Pass.
Full Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Upgrade contents
- Buddy Pass
- Cyborg Skin Pack:
- Cyborg player skin
- Titanium alloy skins for all weapons
- Armor-boosting pep signal
If you’re considering buying the upgrade to play with a friend, we’d actually recommend getting them a 1-month Game Pass subscription instead. It costs the same ($9.99) and will provide you with plenty of time to complete Wolfenstein: Youngblood in co-op, as well as then having the opportunity to play co-op in hundreds of other games available on the service.
