Media Molecule’s Dreams presents PS4 players near-endless opportunities to play and create a swathe of varied content. Currently, it only allows them to do so on a TV screen, however. In order to really get those creative juices flowing, the developers are working to implement PlayStation VR support into Dreams, allowing players to interact with the game on a whole new level by leveraging virtual 3D environments. Sounds exciting, right? Well, it does also pose a question: What is the Dreams PSVR release date?
In this guide, we’ll fill you in on everything you need to know about when the anticipated VR update is coming to Dreams on PS4.
When is Dreams PSVR support coming?
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Dreams technical director Alex Evans shone some light on when players can expect to start enjoying Dreams in PSVR. When asked about what the future holds in store for Dreams, Evans stated that “VR is in the pipeline and is actually nearly done, to be honest.”

Although that isn’t a concrete Dreams PSVR release date, it does indicate that we can expect VR functionality to be added sooner rather than later. It must be coming along nicely, as PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida was recently snapped playing Dreams in VR by the team at Media Molecule.

Yoshida (@yosp) described his time playing the in-development Dreams PSVR mode as both “great” and “fxcking cool” in response to fan inquiries on Twitter. That’s high praise indeed, which can only serve to make the wait for an official Dreams PSVR release date all the more grueling.
With work on integrating Dreams PSVR support into the existing game via a free update said to be “nearly done,” again, there hopefully isn’t too long left to tough out before the general public can join Yoshida in enjoying this new mode.
