More juicy details surrounding Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake are dropping as we edge ever closer to the game’s Friday, April 10 launch on PS4. What about a Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC release date, though? With rumor swirling of a potential Final Fantasy VII Remake PC port being in the works, are we any closer to knowing for sure if the rejuvenated classic will ever hit personal computers?
In this guide, we’ll share everything you need to know about Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC and what storefront(s) it could be available on.
Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming to PC?
Although Final Fantasy 7 Remake hasn’t been officially confirmed to be headed to the PC platform, meaning there isn’t currently a PC release date, there is, nonetheless, evidence that suggests the JRPG could be set to make the jump next year. In late 2019, known video games tipster Wario64 pointed out that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS4 box art had been updated to feature a sticker disclosing that it was a “timed exclusive.”

The sticker reads as follows:
PlayStation Exclusive
Play first on PS4*
*Timed exclusive until 3/3/21
Although this in itself isn’t confirmation that a PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is on the way, alongside Xbox One it seems like the most likely platform to be targetted for a port. If the information is accurate, there’s exactly one year from tomorrow (at the time of writing) to wait in order to play FF7 Remake on anything other than PS4.
Will Final Fantasy 7 Remake be on Steam?
With Steam being the biggest digital PC games storefront and home to the Final Fantasy back catalog, it’s likely that any potential Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC version would land there.
Will Final Fantasy 7 Remake be an Epic Games Store exclusive?
Epic has confirmed that it’s open to pursuing more exclusivity deals and securing Final Fantasy 7 Remake — even just as a timed exclusive — would prove to be their biggest get yet. There’s no evidence that anything of the sort is planned, but you can never say never.
