If you’ve encountered the locked pumping station doors in the Factory area of Escape from Tarkov, curiosity might’ve gotten the best of you and now you’re in search of the key(s). Alternatively, you might’ve picked up the Sanitary Standards – Part 1 quest from the Therapist in which the Escape from Tarkov Door Key is an optional quest item.
Either way, in this guide we’ll tell you where to find and how to use the Door Key and Door Key (alternative).
Where to find the Escape from Tarkov Door Key
Both the Door Key and the Door Key (alternative) do the same job, so don’t worry about finding both as it isn’t necessary.
Escape from Tarkov Door Key location
The Door Key can be found on a bench between a hardhat and some work overalls in the second-floor Factory locker room.

Escape from Tarkov Door Key (alternative) location
The alternative Door Key is a random spawn that appears in the pockets and bags of enemy Scavs. If you hapen upon the key early you’re all set, otherwise, it’s a better option to eliminate the element of luck by simply opting to seek out the set spawn location outlined above.
Where to use the Escape from Tarkov Door Key
The in-game Door Key description reads:
Old key, apparently even Soviet-made, labeled “pumping station.”
Meanwhile, the Door Key (alternate) description is as follows:
Old key, apparently even Soviet-made, most likely it’s from administration building doors.
The former is your first major clue as to the Door Key’s use, since the name and latter description don’t really reveal much.
You need to locate the pumping station on the ground floor of the Factory area, close to where the main extract occurs; it essentially looks like a small building within the larger factory building. Interact with the door and select the “unlock” option (which entrance is unlockable depends on which version of the Door Key you have) in order to gain entry to the pumping station and the loot within.
