Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 made an impressive gameplay debut recently, leaving RPG and D&D fans chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game. Luckily, there shouldn’t be too long to wait, as it’s been confirmed that Baldur’s Gate III will launch in Early Access on PC and Google Stadia at some point in 2020. What’s included in Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access?
Absolutely everything that’ll be included in the Early Access version of Baldur’s Gate 3 hasn’t yet been nailed down by Larian (Divinity: Original Sin), though, excitingly, several early details regarding in-game content have been confirmed at this time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access classes
- Cleric — Light, Life, Trickery
- Fighter — Battle Master, Eldritch Knight
- Ranger — Beast Master, Hunter
- Rogue — Arcane Trickster, Thief
- Warlock — Fiend, Great One
- Wizard — Abjuration, Evocation
Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access origin characters and companions
- Astarion — Elven vampire spawn, Rogue
- Gale — Human Wizard
- Lae’zel — Githyanki Fighter
- Shadowheart — Half-elf Cleric
- Wyll — Human Warlock
You can elect to play as any of the game’s origin characters, provided that you’re happy with being locked into their associated race and class. Any origin characters you don’t play as will be recruitable in-game as companions.
Of course, it’ll also be possible to create your own custom character from scratch. What variety of races will be available to players in the Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access build is currently unknown, however.
In terms of gameplay content, it’s been confirmed that the Early Access version will restrict players to the first act of Baldur’s Gate 3. Without knowing how many acts there are in total, it’s hard to put any kind of estimate on how much playtime this could entail; that being said, the complete game is promised to include 100+ hours of content. Additionally, during the gameplay reveal, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke stated that there’ll be enough to keep people entertained without spoiling all of the surprises to come in the full version.
