As always, voice communication is key, but regular voice chat doesn’t do much to give a sense of immersion. Call of Duty: Warzone does not have proximity chat. What’s more, it doesn’t seem like the developers plan on adding it any time soon. It could potentially be introduced sometime in the future, but as things stand now, there is no proximity chat in Warzone.

You may be asking: Why would players want proximity chat in Warzone or any other Call of Duty game? Simple: So they can hear any nearby players. The feature allows voice communications to be shared with others so long as they’re within a set range of the speaker. It could be open to everyone or shared among allies only — that’s up to the developer.
On one hand, it’s a more realistic way of speaking to teammates and getting a sense of their locations. On the other, it’s an open system that is all-too-frequently abused. Still, it’s not without its potential for entertainment value, especially when it comes to streaming. That’s probably why it’s found in a variety of different games including Sea of Thieves, PUBG, Ark: Survival Evolved, and The Division 2.
For now, there is no proximity chat in Call of Duty: Warzone. Location-based voice communication could potentially be added in the future, but there’s no word on whether the developers have any plans to do so. Sorry folks, regular old voice chat will have to do for now.
