Is there a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch release date?
We’ll nip this one in the bud. There is no Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch release date. Square Enix has neither confirmed nor denied a Switch port of the game, however. It could, therefore, release on Nintendo’s hybrid machine, on April 10, 2021, at the earliest. Given the low power of the Switch compared to the PS4, though, a port does seem unlikely.

Based on our report asking if the remake will release on Xbox One and PC, we know that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a timed exclusive for PS4 until April 10, 2021. By then, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be out, and we could well see an upgraded port on both of those consoles. This, we feel, is more likely than a downgraded port to the Switch.
It’s safe to assume that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will never make its way onto the Switch. The proper version of Final Fantasy 15 never released on the platform. Instead, we got Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition on the console. Square Enix will more than likely never develop such a game for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, as the original is available on most every platform, including the Switch, anyway. While it could theoretically happen, we don’t think a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch release date will ever materialize. You’ll have to play it on PS4 for the next year, anyway.
