The Heartbeat Sensor in Call of Duty: Warzone is a piece of equipment used to detect enemy locations. As the name implies, it senses the heartbeat of nearby enemies. That information is then fed to the sensor’s display, giving a rough estimation of the location of any enemies within a 20 to 50 meter radius.

As any Warzone or Modern Warfare player knows, keeping track of enemy locations is critical. With the Heartbeat Sensor, it’s possible to determine if any enemies are nearby by selecting the equipment and pressing L1 (PS4) or LB (Xbox One). When activated, a series of pulses will be emitted. Any nearby enemies will then appear on the sensor’s screen as a bright dot.

However, it is possible to evade Heartbeat Sensor detection by equipping the Ghost perk. The Ghost perk makes your character undetectable by any means, whether from UAVs, Radar Drones, or the Heartbeat Sensor. If you find that you’re consistently hunted down by players who didn’t see you, equipping the Ghost perk (and/or the related Cold-Blood perk) should allow you to remain hidden.

The Heartbeat Sensor is one of Call of Duty: Warzone‘s most popular pieces of equipment. It’s not hard to see why: The silent radar pings will point out any enemy presences in the vicinity. It won’t catch everyone, though, since its effects are easily nullified with the Ghost perk. Still, it’s a great way to get the jump on enemies — or at least spot them before they get the jump on you.
