Animal Crossing: New Horizons is about to get a whole lot more exciting, courtesy of Nintendo’s free Thursday, April 23 update. The patch is (amongst other things) set to introduce new island visitors to the game, one of which is Leif the sloth from 3DS title New Leaf. Not only will players get to see a friendly face return, but our green-fingered friend will bring along stock from his garden center. Where is the Leif location in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Leif is soon set to make his debut in the first Animal Crossing Nintendo Switch game. Players can expect to find Leif at random intervals in the Resident Services building plaza; he’ll be set up in the same place that Mabel appears before establishing the Able Sisters Tailoring Shop. It’s currently unclear whether or not players will be able to have Leif move to their islands permanently, in a similar fashion.

When Leif appears, he can be interacted with in order to purchase a variety of seeds and pre-grown shrubs to decorate your island. As can be seen in the above image, shrubs will cost 280 Bells each and seed packets are priced at 240 Bells.
It’s worth noting that Leif isn’t guaranteed to appear on your island every single day. Like other temporary stores, Leif comes and goes on different days, bringing new stock each time. You’ll want to make the most of his appearances to collect all seeds and shrubs.
Where is the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Leif’s Gardening Shop?
- Check the plaza of your Resident Services building on a daily basis.
- Each day there’s a chance that Leif will have set up his Garden Shop stall.
- Eventually, you’ll see a friendly sloth with a green cap by a stall — that’s Leif.
- Talk to Leif with the “A” button.
- Highlight and purchase any stock that takes your fancy.
- Shrubs cost 280 Bells.
- Seeds cost 240 Bells.
