In order to unlock the crossbow successfully, you should remember a few things: First, many players say you can’t leave the Warzone match after getting five kills. If you do, the kills for that match may not count toward overall progress. To make matters worse, some users report that you’ll have to wait up to three matches before the kills start counting again. To play it safe, your best bet is to earn at least five kills, then see the match through to the end.
Otherwise, you can unlock the crossbow in any Warzone mode, including Plunder. And no, you don’t need to purchase Modern Warfare to get the crossbow. Beyond that, if you’re sure your Marksman rifle kills are valid but the progress isn’t being displayed, try restarting the game. Otherwise, simply stick it out. It will take a grand total of 125 Marksman rifle kills across 25 Warzone matches to unlock the crossbow.
