Moving Out online multiplayer

Is there Moving Out online multiplayer?

Moving home doesn’t tend to be the most enjoyable of tasks, whether it’s you taking the plunge of you’re helping a friend or family member. Team 17 is aiming to change that with Moving Out, however — a frantic co-op game in the vein of Overcooked. That’s all well and good, but can you practice being removal people via Moving Out online multiplayer, or is cooperative local play all that’s supported?

Stick with this guide for everything you need to know regarding Moving Out online play on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Does Moving Out have online multiplayer support?

Although Moving Out is first and foremost a co-op game for up to four players, unfortunately, online multiplayer isn’t supported in any version of the game. Whichever platform you play on, Moving Out can only be enjoyed cooperatively in a local couch co-op setting.

The lack of Moving Out online multiplayer isn’t too big of a problem on Nintendo Switch, which comes with two controllers in the form of its detachable Joy-Cons, but could prove to be more of a barrier to entry elsewhere. In addition, due to many countries being under enforced lockdown at the time of the game’s launch it could prove difficult to gather players for a local session.

Moving Out is playable solo, though doing so will almost certainly hurt the experience. It’s possible that online play could be implemented through a free update at a later time, though that’s merely speculation. Team 17 stablemate Overcooked only received online co-op in its sequel, so that might also be a possibility if Moving Out proves successful for the publisher.
