Is Project Athia a new Final Fantasy game?
No. Project Athia is not a new Final Fantasy game, as it has been revealed that it is an all-new IP from Square Enix. The upcoming game was revealed during Sony’s PS5 reveal stream, but very little is known about it. Indeed, Project Athia is a working title for the game, suggesting that it is going to be a long wait for its release date. All we know is what we’ve seen so far in the teaser trailer and that the game is an all-new IP from Square Enix releasing on PS5 and PC.

What we don’t know is everything else. We don’t know what the game will be called, we don’t know when its release date will be, and we don’t know exactly what you do in the game. Suffice to say, we’ll be waiting for quite some time before we learn everything about the game. While it is slated right now as a new IP, things can and do change. Square Enix could decide to rebrand and release the game as a Final Fantasy spin-off of some variety. We’ll have to wait and see.
