It certainly looks pretty cool, but one question is on players’ minds: can you play Rogue Company for free?
Can you play Rogue Company for free?
At the time of writing, Rogue Legacy is not free-to-play. Though the game has simultaneously launched in beta across all four major platforms, it is a paid-for beta, so you’ll need to put down a few bucks. With that said, the plan is to eventually have the game launch as a free-to-play title, but it isn’t yet clear when that will be.
The game’s official website leads to store pages on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Nintendo eShop. For now, none of the four sites offer up a free-to-play option for the game. Instead, you’re going to have to buy one of three “Founder’s Packs” to jump right into the action.
What do you get in the Rogue Company Founders Pack?
- Rogue Company Starter Founder’s Pack ($14.99) – Grants access to the game’s beta, two extra playable Rogues, and four cosmetic items.
- Rogue Company Standard Founder’s Pack ($29.99) – Get early access to the game, eight extra playable Rogues., and four cosmetic items.
- Rogue Company Ultimate Founder’s Pack ($59.99) – Early access to the game, eight playable Rogues, a “cache full of cosmetic items”, and 1,500 Rogue Bucks.
Although there is no Rogue Company free-to-play option at launch, free-to-play is planned at some stage. Hi-Rez has had paid betas which transitioned into free-to-play games at a later point, so you this isn’t unusual. For now, you can buy Rogue Company via the game’s official website.
