Sometimes Valorant players want nothing more than to enjoy a match in peace. For some, that peace only arrives in times when you can appear offline. After all, becoming invisible is a very easy way of avoiding unwanted chat messages or invite requests. Unfortunately, you don’t have many choices if you want to appear offline in Valorant.
Valorant | How to appear offline
At the time of writing, there is no official way to appear offline in Valorant. The developers at Riot Games have not provided a tool that can be used to become invisible or stay hidden from friends. For now, the only way to appear offline is through use of unofficial third-party applications.
If you’re mainly looking for an official way to become invisible, this news is bad. Despite the popularity of similar invisibility features on services like PSN or Steam, the team at Riot Games haven’t provided a way for Valorant players to stay hidden from friends.
However, there is a workaround that involves a third-party program called Deceive. Deceive was designed as a way for users to appear offline in other Riot Games releases, notably League of Legends. However, it has been adapted to function in Valorant as well.
Riot Games has stated that use of Deceive will not result in a game ban. However, unofficial third-party applications are not guaranteed to work with Valorant. Likewise, use of such apps could result in one of dozens of different Valorant error codes. If going invisible is that important to you, you can download Deceive from its page on GitHub.
Valorant does not provide an official way to appear offline. If you want to stay invisible or hidden from your friends, you should consider simply removing them from your friends list. Assuming that’s not an option, the only functional way to stay hidden involves installing third-party applications or software.
