The Status Goldflake error in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare prevents the game from connecting to online services. In most cases, you can fix Status Goldflake by performing a full reboot of your Xbox One or PlayStation 4.
Unlike Call of Duty‘s countless dev error codes, Status Goldflake appears to be caused by an erroneous software status. Connecting the dots between reports on the Activision Support forums and the MW Subreddit shows that it often appears after the host system has been suspended.
For whatever reason, suspending your console with Call of Duty running makes you far more likely to encounter Status Goldflake. After resuming the game, it will refuse to connect online. Activision Support representatives have stated (to the surprise of no one) that restarting the console should fix the problem. Shockingly, a full restart actually seems to work. The majority of users who reported restarting their system stated that the status error disappeared after a full reboot.
Unfortunately, there is one caveat: The Goldflake error can come back at any time. Even after a full reboot, some users say the error pops back up after playing a few rounds. Those same users report that restarting the console fixes it again, only for it to come back later.
