Will there be Apex Legends Season 6 Cross-Play? The launch date of Apex Legends Season 6 is all set for mid-August 2020 and fans are curious about playing together with their friends — will PC players be able to play with PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch gamers?
Will there be Apex Legends Season 6 Cross-Play?
Earlier this year, EA and Respawn Entertainment made the announcement that Apex Legends was going to offer up Cross-Play. A version for the game was in the works for both Steam and Nintendo Switch and Cross-Play was promised to players.
With a new season on the horizon, will be able to take advantage of Cross-Play with our friends? Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there’s going to be Apex Legends Season 6 Cross-Play — at least, not at first.
When will Apex Legends Cross-Play launch?
If you’re wondering about the status of this brand-new feature, we’ve already been told about it when it first launched. The details about Apex Legends Cross-Play are right there in the original announcement:
“Ready to take on the world? Hopefully your friends on other platforms are really as good as they claim to be. This fall you’ll be able to squad up no matter what platform your friends prefer – Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, or on PC via Origin and Steam. While you’ll be able to play with your friends across all these platforms, cross-progression will not be supported.”
If you’re not the greatest with dates, fall doesn’t officially start until Tuesday, September 22, 2020. That means it’s really unlikely that we’ll be getting Apex Legends Cross-Play before then.
Granted, it is possible that we can still see Apex Legends Season 6 Cross-Play. It’s doubtful that it’s going to launch on August 18, but we may see it deploy later in the season. However, it’s much more likely that we’ll see this new feature debut with the start of Season 7 sometime in October or November 2020.
