Is there Hitman 3 PC VR support? With PSVR support confirmed for the PlayStation version, can PC virtual reality users take advantage of the same experience? Here’s all the latest information surrounding Hitman 3 virtual reality on PC.
Hitman 3 PC VR | Are Oculus, Vive, and Index supported?
At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not there will be a Hitman 3 PC VR mode. The developers have confirmed that Hitman 3 VR is playable on PlayStation VR, but has so far neglected to comment on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Valve Index functionality for PC.
Considering that the Hitman 3 VR key art is protagonist Agent 47 wearing Sony’s PSVR headset (above), it’s clear that PlayStation VR is at least the lead platform. That’s understandable since PSVR is the best-selling virtual reality headset, however, and doesn’t necessarily rule out PC VR support entirely.
IO Interactive recently elected to make Hitman 3 a timed Epic Games Store exclusive. Although the EGS does support VR games, it doesn’t do so natively, requiring third-party software like the Oculus app or SteamVR. If there is Hitman 3 PC VR functionality, then users might not have the best experience thanks to Epic Games playing host to the new Hitman game.
One additional possibility is that the Hitman 3 virtual reality mode is a timed PlayStation exclusive. This is speculation, but with IO’s latest stealth title coming to Steam at a later date, that version could boast full SteamVR integration to help sweeten the deal for any players that opted to wait and purchase via Valve’s digital PC storefront.
