Will Warzone be in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War?

If you’re a fan of Call of Duty, you’re likely aware of the upcoming release of Black Ops Cold War. The new COD game is a full-featured return to the 1980s, one that comes complete with the series’ modern suite of features. Of course, that leads us to question the game’s integration with Warzone, the series’ free-to-play battle royale spin-off.

Will there be Warzone in Black Ops Cold War?

Will there be Warzone in Black Ops Cold War?

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be integrated into Warzone. Still, Warzone is not in Cold War per se; the two games will remain distinct experiences. With that said, Warzone will receive a number of features related to the new COD game including weapons and operators.

It’s important to remember that Warzone is not part of Black Ops Cold War or even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It’s an entirely separate game that just happens to be closely related to the other releases. Warzone is not in Cold War, but new items and operators from Cold War will make their way into the battle royale.

According to the team at Activision, the release of Black Ops Cold War will introduce themes, operators, and weapons into Warzone. In fact, one of them has already been announced: Frank Woods, one of the central characters in the new Black Ops, will be making his way into Warzone. As with Modern Warfare, players can expect certain weapons or other unlockables to become available in both releases — or perhaps even all three.

If this all seems confusing, well… that’s because it just is. The best way to clarify is that Warzone will remain a separate experience, and will simply receive new features based around the new Call of Duty games.

Put simply, Warzone is not in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It’s still a separate game. Fortunately, if you want to play Warzone, you can still download it for free and enjoy various Cold War-themed features.
