Remothered Broken Porcelain Review 04

Remothered: Broken Porcelain | How to kill Andrea

The first boss in Remothered: Broken Porcelain is the head maid, Andrea. Shortly after the game begins, Andrea changes from being a grouch to just outright trying to kill Jennifer. Unfortunately, it’s a life or death situation, and Jennifer must kill Andrea before the scissor-wielding maid snuffs her out.

Unfortunately, Remothered: Broken Porcelain is incredibly buggy. This means that the relatively straightforward boss fight with Andrea is one of the more challenging sections of the game. However, beating Andrea is reasonably easy once players figure out her blind spot.

Remothered Broken Porcelain Review 01

After getting the Balcony Key, players must sneak across the balcony and use the garbage can to climb into Andrea’s room. She’ll come in and go to sleep in her chair, allowing Jennifer to steal the Master Keys from the nearby wall. Unfortunately, Jen doesn’t get far. Andrea wakes up and snatches the keys back from her. This starts the boss fight.

Andrea doesn’t switch up her tactics from earlier. If she sees Jennifer, she’ll begin chasing her, and if she gets close enough, she’ll try and knock her down or attack with her scissors.

Since the AI in Remothered: Broken Porcelain is so unpredictable, Andrea can be a formidable opponent. She can drift between being completely unresponsive or instantly track Jen no matter where she goes. However, there is one surefire tactic players can use to get a sneak attack in on her.

If a player crouches beside a door frame and throws a distraction item down the hall across from it, Andrea will open the door, and it will obscure the player, so she doesn’t instantly detect them. Players can then run-up to her and use a stealth attack.

Offensive and defensive items are scattered throughout the area, so players can lose Andrea and re-up as needed. The main thing to avoid is trying to take her on when there are any interactable objects around. The button for stealth attacking and interacting or picking up objects is the same, so it’s easy to have Jen start opening a drawer or cabinet accidentally.

It takes 3-4 stealth attacks to take Andrea down for good finally. The first couple of times she collapses, she’s just playing possum. Just keep up your assault, and it should take too long to beat this boss fight.
