Currently, there is only one way to access the Little Hope Curator’s Cut. Players can only get the Curator’s Cut if they’ve pre-ordered the game. Supermassive said the Curator’s Cut would be made available earlier to those who have pre-ordered, meaning it would likely be coming at a later date for later adopters. This was the case with Man of Medan as well and its Curator’s Cut was free a few months after its initial release.

However, even those who pre-order can’t play the Curator’s Cut right away. Anyone wanting to see the alternate take on the game will have to beat the game first either solo in the co-op modes (which are further explained here). Players only get access to the base Theatrical Cut your first time through.

Choose “New Story” in Play Alone or Don’t Play Alone

To actually start the Curator’s Cut run, start a solo or cooperative campaign in the Play Alone and Don’t Play Alone options on the main menu, respectively. Be sure to pick “New Story.”

Pick “Curator’s Cut”

Then the options to pick between the Theatrical Cut and Curator’s Cut will show up. Choose wisely as it isn’t possible to switch back and forth. The game locks players in once one mode is started. Picking another save is wise, too, since not doing so will overwrite the previous Theatrical Cut save.

What is different in the Curator’s Cut?

The Curator’s Cut plays through the same story but gives players a different character to control as during those familiar scenes. For example, instead of playing as Daniel in one scene, users may play as Taylor or one of the other characters. This is essentially what the second players sees in the game’s online co-op mode called Shared Story. It was like that in Man of Medan and has a chance to be like that in the next entry, which is teased in Little Hope.
