Those that enrolled in the iOS and iPadOS 14 betas are experiencing an annoying glitch. A pop-up stating, “A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 14 beta,” appears each time a user enrolled in the program unlocks their device. Fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any ill effects from the bug. Still, it’s annoying enough having to close the message every time someone wants to use their device.
Of course, the obvious fix would be to update from the iOS 14 beta. However, there isn’t an update available. Even deleting the iOS 14 beta profile doesn’t fix the issue.

This isn’t the first time this bug has occurred. Those who participated in the iOS 12 beta in 2012 faced the exact same issue. This glitch was fixed shortly after it started by a new beta update.
Fortunately, a new iOS and IPadOS 14.2 beta is already being seeded by Apple that will resolve this issue. Developers can update manually by downloading the fix through the Apple Developer Center. Public beta testers should receive the over-the-air update shortly as long as the iOS 14 beta profile remains installed.
Basically, the fix for this bug is on its way for those affected, and the best solution is just to have patience. Users can either wait for the notification that an update is available or by going into Settings -> General -> Software Updates. We can confirm that the update was available for us after manually checking for it.
The 5.05GB iOS 14 beta update it pretty girthy for a hotfix, so there may be some additional fixes and features contained within. We haven’t noticed any major changes. It seems just as stable as the previous version, minus the very annoying pop-up bug.
If the update hasn’t appeared yet, just keep checking back. Most, if not all, users should have access to it by the end of the day.
