Star Wars: The Mandalorian is basically the premier Disney+ original show. Its second season is currently streaming, which has a lot of fans wondering about a potential tie-in game. So, is a Star Wars: The Mandalorian game coming out? Will Baby Yoda finally be in a video game? Here’s the need-to-know on “Mando” the bounty hunter and “The Child” making their gaming debut.
Is a Star Wars: The Mandalorian game in development?
Any gamer that watches The Mandalorian knows it could translate into a game pretty seamlessly. With last year’s Jedi: Fallen Order proving that EA can handle the Star Wars franchise well — on occasion, at least — there was already reason to be hopeful. A recent tweet from Xbox Game Pass then stoked the flames and got gamers even more excited. Was the tweet teasing a Mandalorian game or something else, though?
EA hasn’t yet announced that a Star Wars: The Mandalorian game is in development. Although Xbox has a strong partnership with Electronic Arts and past Star Wars titles are coming to Game Pass via EA Play integration, the recent Mandalorian tweet doesn’t necessarily relate to a new video game. Instead, most speculation points towards some kind of Disney+ integration with Xbox Game Pass that would allow subscribers to watch The Mandalorian season one and two.

“All we’re gonna say is that we’re not posting The Mandalorian and The Child for no reason,” reads the provocative tweet from Xbox Game Pass on Twitter. Shared alongside a still from the show, it’s unlikely that the tease relates to a new Mandalorian game.
Realistically, a Disney Plus trial could be offered as an Xbox Game Pass perk. It seems out of the question that even Game Pass Ultimate subscribers ($14.99 per month) would receive a recurring Disney+ subscription, what with that costing $6.99 per month alone. Microsoft has deep pockets, sure, but perhaps not that deep…
For now, though, it’s only possible to speculate on the exact content of The Mandalorian Xbox Game Pass tease. Keep an eye on the Game Pass Twitter account for updates.
If Xbox Game Pass subscribers do end up receiving Disney+ subs, here’s how to watch Star Wars: The Mandalorian and more content in the ultrawide ratio.
