There are a lot of gear chests in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but few are more obtuse than the Veronis gear chest. This tricky treasure is hidden within a Roman-style building and seemingly has no entrance as the front and only door is barred from the inside. Here’s how to get inside and get the wealth gear chest in Veronis, Ledecestrescire in ACV.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla | How to open the Veronis gear chest
To open the gear chest in Veronis, players first need to get to the building, which is in the above picture of the map.
Climb the building
There are no open ground entrances so players first have to climb the building. It doesn’t matter which side, but the west is the best side to climb on.
Scurry across the rope
Once on the roof, look for a small wooden pillar sticking out with a rope attached to it on the northwest end like in the above picture. Go across the rope to a small platform in the trees, the same one that the red arrow is pointing to.
Use the zipline
Simply use the zipline on that platform to get to another platform in the trees.
Find the crack in the building
Now look back into the building. See the crack? That’s the key.
Use the bow to aim at the lock
The Predator Bow helps a lot here as players now have to aim through the crack and snipe the bar holding the front door shut. This can be a little difficult so be sure to use Odin’s Pulse to make the bar glow red or use the Guided Arrow sniper skill from the skill tree to guide the arrow to its destination. That skill only works with Predator Bows. Using photo mode is also a bit of a cheeky way to spot the bar.
Go through the front door and get the chest
With the lock out of the way, the front door is now open. Go inside, kill the enemies, and grab the big square chest. It’s got the Hrafn Guard shield inside. It’s not the best shield but it could be something special after a few carbon ingots.
