According to Bungie support, error code honeydew in Destiny 2 appears when public access to an activity has been overridden. This happens when servers go down or when certain issues have been found. However, since Bungie itself changed access rights to the activity, you don’t have to do anything to fix the honeydew error.
In most cases, error code honeydew appears to be some sort of networking issue. When Bungie pulls access to certain events, you won’t be able to join them, making it seem like game servers are unavailable. In fact, you’ll probably see a message saying servers are temporarily at capacity. This message can appear even if the accepted capacity is set to zero.
Don’t worry, this is a common problem. Honeydew means that Bungie revoked access to something, not that anything is wrong with your connection. Specifically, it means that “public access to an Activity has been manually overridden by Bungie.” In other words, certain functions are simply unavailable. Typically this will result in a service alert on the Bungie server status page.
