Crunchyroll might be a great app for catching up on the latest anime, but it lacks some functionality that other video players have. The vast number of anime episodes hosted on Crunchyroll amount to thousands of hours of content, making it almost impossible for even the most hardcore of fans to keep up with a wide variety of shows. It would be awesome, therefore, if users could increase and decrease playback speed.
Can you speed up Crunchyroll playback speed?
No, users can’t yet speed up Crunchyroll playback speed. Viewers can only watch anime at normal speed, with no ability to speed it up or slow it down.
For dubbed episodes, it would be very useful for users to speed up anime by 1.25x or 1.5x. This would effectively shorten the length of each episode, which still keeping the dialogue and action easy to understand. For subtitled episodes, it might be less useful, as users would have to read more quickly.
The ability to increase and decrease playback speed is something that isn’t yet part of Crunchyroll’s feature set. However, it’s possible that the application developer will add the feature in the future. It would be fantastic to see a Playback Speed feature added to the Android and iOS apps, as well as the browser.
Big hitters in the world of anime include Haikyuu to the Top which just had episode 24 launch. It’s about a team of volleyball athletes that have to overcome intimidating odds. Here’s when episode 25 airs.
