One of the biggest changes in Fortnite Season 6 is the new ability to craft items. By gathering the proper resources, players can make their very own gear, and among the first craftable items being introduced is the Hunter’s Cloak. Here’s how to craft a Hunter’s Cloak and complete the first of this new season’s challenges.
How to craft a Hunter’s Cloak in Fortnite
To craft a Hunter’s Cloak in Fortnite, you need to track down three items: One Meat, and two Animal Bones. Once you have the right materials, access the crafting menu by pressing up on the directional pad, then use those items to craft the Hunter’s Cloak.
Since crafting the cloak is one of the first new challenges of Chapter 2 Season 6, it’s not terribly difficult to complete. The main concern is over how to get the Meat and Animal Bones you’ll need. Fortunately, these items drop from all manner of wildlife spread across Fortnite. Animal Bones can be dropped from animals or Skeletons, purchased from Tarana, or found as random loot. Meat, on the other hand, can drop from creatures such as boars, chickens, and wolves.
Beyond that, you’ll also need to know how to craft items in Fortnite. Thankfully, this really couldn’t be much easier. On consoles, the crafting menu can be accessed by pressing Up on the controller’s directional pad, then navigating to the Crafting tab. PC players can access the menu by pressing the Tab key. After that, simply choose to craft the Hunter’s Cloak from the list of craftable items based on your current inventory.
You only need to craft the Hunter’s Cloak to complete this Fortnite challenge; you don’t need to equip it. However, the cloak has a special attribute that prevents animals from attacking your character. You’re probably just in it for the XP, but the extra protection from wildlife is certainly a nice bonus.
