Mass Effect Legendary Edition DLC List: What’s included?

Mass Effect is one of the most beloved sci-fi series in all of gaming. That’s why Mass Effect Legendary Edition is getting so much buzz: It’s meant to be the biggest and best way to enjoy the entire core trilogy. Part of the collection’s immense fan service is its DLC list, which includes almost every single content pack ever released for each game. Here’s a look at the full Mass Effect Legendary Edition DLC list as well as a look at which DLC isn’t included in the new release.

All told, these 41 DLC packs comprise nearly everything that’s been released for the Mass Effect trilogy. We say “nearly” because there are some omissions, primarily Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. We’ll touch more on that below.

However, there are some interesting additions on offer in the new release. Among the list is the Extended Cut of Mass Effect 3, a collection of cinematics that was previously made available as a Wii U exclusive. Legendary Edition also throws in the Genesis 2 interactive comic, which was similarly exclusive to the game’s previous Wii U release.

Longtime series fans may also recall that many of the DLC packs for Mass Effect 2 were provided through the Cerberus Network. However, BioWare shut down that service nearly a decade ago. Thankfully, each of the story and weapon packs that were originally offered through the Cerberus Network — including all paid downloadable content packs — are all free in Legendary Edition.

What Mass Effect DLC isn’t included with Legendary Edition?

What Mass Effect DLC isn't included with Legendary Edition?

There are only two DLC packs that aren’t included with Mass Effect Legendary Edition: Pinnacle Station for the original Mass Effect, and the Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer component.

Pinnacle Station was one of only two DLC packs released for the original Mass Effect, and while it had its fans, it wasn’t very important story-wise. That’s not why it isn’t included, though. Turns out that it was developed by an outside studio — Demiurge — who was unable to provide the BioWare team with a working copy of the original source code. According to game director Mac Walters (via Game Informer), the decision to leave Pinnacle out of Legendary Edition was “heartbreaking.”

As for Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer, it seems that including the multiplayer component would have been too much work. The game is practically ancient by now, and getting multiplayer to work across all platforms apparently just wasn’t in the cards.

Fortunately, there are still 41 DLC packs in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. All told, this is still the most complete Mass Effect trilogy collection ever presented. It’s a shame that Pinnacle Station and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer didn’t make the cut, but the rest of the DLC list should be more than enough to satisfy series fans.
