Sea of Thieves Jack Sparrow's compass not working

How to fix Sea of Thieves Jack Sparrow’s compass not working bug

The free Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life expansion includes five all-new Tall Tales, which take place in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe. During the second part, The Sunken Pearl, players must retrieve Jack Sparrow’s legendary compass as seen in the movies. Problem is, the  Sea of Thieves Jack Sparrow’s compass not working glitch is preventing players from using it. This compass should point to “the heart’s true desire,” but when the bug occurs it simply points due north. Fortunately, there’s a quick and easy broken SoT Jack’s Compass quest item workaround for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC players.

Sea of Thieves Jack Sparrow’s compass not working bug fix

Sea of Thieves Jack Sparrow's compass not working

If Jack Sparrow’s compass doesn’t work in the second Sea of Thieves: A Pirates Life Tall Tale, The Sunken Pearl, players should quit and reload the game.

Unfortunately, this will result in the loss of progress. The first thing that players do during The Sunken Pearl quest is dive deep and loot Jack’s Compass from the sunken Black Pearl, however, so it shouldn’t take long to make up the lost ground.

Users need a working Jack Sparrow’s compass to progress in Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life, as it guides them through the underwater Tall Tale. Players then need to gift it to a familiar face in order to complete The Sunken Pearl and progress to the next Tall Tale — Captains of the Damned.

The Jack’s Compass glitch isn’t the only progress-halting bug in The Sunken Pearl chapter, though. Immediately after acquiring this magical artifact, players must use it to guide them into a cave containing a magical barrier. In some instances, pirates can’t open the door no matter what they try. Similar to the compass bug, however, there is a workaround.
