Will there be an Alan Wake Remastered DLC release of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare? The standalone expansion was released in 2012, several years after the original Alan Wake and its DLC episodes, but now with the announcement of the long-leaked remaster fans are undoubtedly wondering if there will be an Alan Wake’s American Nightmare remastered release too — or is American Nightmare included with Alan Wake Remastered?
Is there Alan Wake Remastered American Nightmare DLC?
As of right now, it looks as if the Alan Wake’s American Nightmare standalone expansion will not be included with the Alan Wake Remastered release this Fall, although the game’s other DLC episodes ‘The Signal’ and ‘The Writer’ will be.
The remaster was announced by Lake on the Alan Wake website The Sudden Stop and will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, PS5, and Epic Games Store. Alan Wake Remastered is actually being published by Fortnite studio Epic Games and so will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, so it will likely never come to Steam. Alan Wake Remastered will also included enhanced 4K visuals, updated character models, and developer commentary from writer and creator director Sam Lake. There is currently no release date beyond “this fall,” although leaks place the game as coming out as soon as October 5.
Unfortunately, while the press release confirms that Alan Wake Remastered will include the two main DLC episodes ‘The Signal’ and ‘The Writer,’ Epic and Remedy make no mention of American Nightmare so it’ll likely not be included in the Remastered package when it comes out next month. The expansion was previously given away free to Epic Games Store users, but it’ll be disappointing to PS4 and PS5 owners as this release marks Alan Wake’s first appearance on PlayStation consoles outside of the AWE expansion for Control. Hopefully Alan Wake’s American Nightmare Remastered will be released at a later date.
