There’s a new version of Grand Theft Auto 5 on the horizon, and it’s set to be bigger than ever. Yes, one of the most popular games in the world is getting knocked up a notch with the GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced edition. Is GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced a PlayStation 5 exclusive?

GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced is not a PS5 exclusive. It will will release for PS5 as well as the Xbox Series X|S. However, the standalone Grand Theft Auto Online portion of the game will be free to PS5 players exclusively for three months after launch.

Even though Expanded and Enhanced was unveiled during the recent PlayStation Showcase, it is not a PlayStation exclusive. Of course, few would have expected it to be, considering GTA 5 released for both PlayStation and Xbox during the PS3 and 360 era. The game has gone on to release for PS4 and Xbox One, again without any sort of exclusivity.

However, it seems like PC players might be left out in the cold on the Expanded and Enhanced version. Rockstar Games has not mentioned plans to bring the new version of GTA 5 to PC. Granted, the standard edition of the game is still available on PC, including GTA Online, so there’s at least still an option for players who don’t game on consoles.

In other words, GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced is really more like a special current-generation console version of the game. The newly added features aren’t exclusive to PlayStation, but instead to both PlayStation and Xbox systems. PC players, for better or worse, will have to make due with the same version that’s been available for years.
