The Kena: Bridge of Spirits‘ Taro’s Fear quest tasks you with clearing the corruption at Rusu’s house in order to progress. However, with many paths being blocked and the correct way to proceed not immediately apparent, players can get stuck on this mission. So how do you clear the corruption and advance?
Kena Taro’s Fear Guide: How to clear corruption at Rusu’s house
To clear the corruption at Rusu’s house, you must follow the path heading southwest from Rusu’s Lookout, directly to the left of the fast travel point located there. This will lead you down to training exercises for your newly acquired bow, with you then taking on a series of enemies and crossing a bridge before finally being able to clear the corruption and progress.
After heading down the southwest path, make sure you head to the hat shop tucked away in the clearing just behind the second bow training exercise (the one where you pull a level to activate the targets). Following that, you can take on a third training exercise near the hat shop, which has three difficulty stages that will each reward you with currency.
Continue progressing down the path and you’ll come to a bridge where you’ll have to fight ranged enemies. After defeating the enemies and getting rid of the corrupted flower shrine using the Rot, you can then hit the blue target to the upper-right of the bridge to advance. Continue on and you’ll eventually come up against a boss fight with the Wood Knight. Defeat it and you will then be able to deactivate the corrupted flower atop Rusu’s house using the Rot to clear the corruption and get a bunch of rewards located inside his abode.
