Metroid Dread DLC roadmap

There is no Metroid Dread DLC roadmap currently. The game features no digital pre-order bonuses or post-launch content plans, though there are two Metroid Dread Amiibo capable of granting in-game unlocks.

The Amiibo in question, Samus Aran and E.M.M.I., both grant players in-game boosters. Scanning the Samus Amiibo gives users an extra energy tank — after claiming the tank, scanning once daily restores some health. Meanwhile, the E.M.M.I. Amiibo grants players a Missile+ tank to increase the max ammo capacity and then one missile restock per day.

Right now, Amiibo are as close as it gets to Metroid Dread add-on content. While Nintendo and Mercury Steam are yet to announce a DLC roadmap for the game, expanding on its content in the future isn’t out of the question. Hollow Knight is a good example of how a popular Metroidvania game can do downloadable content right.

That said, Metroid as a series is yet to dabble in releasing downloadable expansions. Metroid Dread, specifically, is meant to stand alone as the conclusion to a story decades in the telling. It seems unlikely that the game will receive new story content as a result, though the potential for additional modes could still be there if there’s enough fan demand. Stay tuned to GameRevolution for any official updates on the game’s post-launch roadmap.
