Fortnite 3.40 update patch notes
Version 3.40
- Maintenance for the game on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch.
- The Switch update also addresses an issue with docking and undocking.
As you can tell, Fortnite update 3.40 is a very minor change to Epic Games’ beloved battle royale. It’s mostly behind-the-scenes changes for mainline consoles, PC, and Android, ensuring everything is running swimmingly following the recent launch of Chapter 3. The only main change comes to Nintendo Switch.
An error, first seen with the new season, caused the game to stop working if players switched between docked and undocked mode. In fact, it was so pervasive that a message on the main Fortnite screen advised against changing your play mode during sessions. Luckily, version 3.40 seems to eliminate that problem, meaning you can switch modes as much as you like once more.
Apart from that, though, it’s mostly changes that we won’t really notice. Launching such a vast batch of content in Chapter 3 was bound to bring some performance issues and minor glitches with it, so this updates starts putting those to bed. It’ll help bring some stability to Fortnite after its huge new iteration. This introduced a brand-new Spider-Man skin to the game, as well as teasing a skin of The Rock to land in the future. We’ll now be able to enjoy those a little bit more, thanks to this update’s stability fixes.
In other news, GTA Online is finally receiving some story expansion – and the beloved Franklin is making a return. It’s also a good idea to look out for the new Sonic the Hedgehog 2 trailer, landing at the Game Awards.
