So far, it’s confirmed for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X. Does Nintendo Switch make the cut? Is Arc Raiders coming to Nintendo Switch?

Arc Raiders will release at some point in early 2022 on the aforementioned platforms. Sadly, it will likely skip a Nintendo Switch release. There’s no mention of Switch on the game’s website, meaning it likely isn’t releasing on the console.

Equally, taking a look at the Nintendo eShop reveals that Arc Raiders sadly isn’t on the storefront. Given you can already wishlist the game on Steam, its omission from the Nintendo site only adds fuel to the fire. The game’s most recent trailer also lists all available platforms at the end, and the Switch sadly isn’t there.

Developer Embark Studios hasn’t given a reason behind the game’s omission on Switch at this time. However, given that it’s skipping previous-gen consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this doesn’t come as a surprise. Generally, the Switch is considered within that eighth generation. It is notoriously less powerful than Sony and Microsoft’s machines, too. As such, it’s unlikely that Nintendo’s console would be able to cope with the intense graphics and processing required to run Arc Raiders.

That said, we can never say never. Recent releases like Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy made their way to Switch via cloud ports, where players stream the whole game online. This could technically work for Arc Raiders, but the radio silence on this means it’s rather unlikely.

In other news, a new Splinter Cell game could be on the way, if recent trademark renewals are to be believed. Also making a return is Sonic, in the upcoming open-world Sonic Frontiers.
