Will Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach be the last game in the FNAF series? The popular Five Nights at Freddy’s horror game series has been going since 2014 and is still incredibly liked, with a movie based on the series still coming. However, with the new FNAF game Security Breach now out and with the franchise’s creator stepping down, is there going to be a new FNAF game after Security Breach?
Is Security Breach the last FNAF game?
It seems highly likely that Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach will not be the end of the franchise as it remains hugely popular.
DLC expansions for Security Breach may be in the pipeline, at the very least. A further Five Nights at Freddy’s game that plays like a direct sequel to Security Breach in the same free-roaming style as the new game seems very possible.
However, the future of the FNAF series was put into question with the controversial departure of franchise creator and primary developer Scott Cawthon. Cawthon confirmed on his website that the FNAF series was not done but someone else would be taking over, and “an announcement will be made at some point.” As of yet, no announcement has been made, but Security Breach developer Steel Wool Studios would be the likeliest candidate.
Security Breach was released on December 16 and is on PC in addition to consoles, and currently has a “mostly positive” rating on Steam, although many reviewers note that it feels a little unfinished so hopefully patches will be incoming to sort out the game’s various issues. It is unknown at this stage whether the latest Five Nights at Freddy’s game will release on iOS and Android as previous FNAF games have, but the developer hasn’t yet announced any plans for a mobile release as of the time of writing.
