Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Release Date Platforms

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

Fans are eagerly anticipating a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 release date. Since the original game released in 2020, we’ve wanted to know when we can continue the retelling of FF7’s story, and the platforms on which it’ll launch. We’ve got a few hints that we’ll detail below.

When is the FF7 Remake Part 2 release date?

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Release Date Story

So far, Square Enix hasn’t announced a release date for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. Unlike part one, which was revealed five years before launch, the company has kept very quiet about FF7 Remake Part 2. For now, we don’t know when the game will release, how many games will be in the FF7 Remake series, or any of the story content. We’d bet that we won’t see it until after the release of Final Fantasy XVI at the earliest.

Square Enix is likely being more secretive because the second part of the story will likely take us farther off the rails. While the first part didn’t veer too far off track until the last quarter, the events that transpired are enough to influence what happens after the team leave Midgar heavily.

If we had to guess, Part 2 will start with the Nibelheim flashback at Kalm, and we’ll see a subversion of events. Since Cloud had contact with Sephiroth multiple times in the first game, he may discover that his version of events is a lie much earlier in the game. We may also see Zack make his way to Kalm. However, we’d bet on a B plot of the game being Zack having to trail the party across Gaia.

It’s hard to tell where the party will end up by the end of FF7 Remake Part 2. Depending on how many games are on the series, we may cover quite a bit of ground. Alternatively, if Square Enix plans on four or more games, we might only make it through the trip across the sea to the Western Continent (which might finally get a name).

What platforms will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 release on?

We’ll make a bet that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will release on PS5 as a timed exclusive, then on PC. Given the studio’s treatment of the first part, we don’t see it coming to Xbox, and it likely won’t come to PC until 12-18 months after launch.
