Resident Evil 4 Remake Release Date

Resident Evil 4 Remake Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

It’s assumed that a Resident Evil 4 remake release date is in the works. It’s the most logical next step to follow 2020’s Resident Evil 3 remake, and it’s one of the most critically acclaimed entries in the series. So, when can we expect the return of the Las Plagas, and what platforms will it show up on?

When will we get a Resident Evil 4 remake release date?

Resident Evil 4 Remake Release Date Platforms

The release date for the Resident Evil 4 remake hasn’t been officially announced yet. However, the game is almost certainly in production, and we can expect to see it soon. Data from the 2020 Capcom leak pointed to a late 2022 release date for RE4 remake, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that slipped into 2023.

Lately, Capcom has been doing yearly releases for the Resident Evil series, and we anticipate that either a different game will be released this year, or they’ll skip it entirely. After the poor fan reaction to Resident Evil 3 remake and RE:Verse, the studio might be delaying some titles internally for quality assurance.

Considering how many fans Resident Evil 4 has, the A team is probably developing it. Hopefully, that means we’ll be seeing the same quality we got with Resident Evil 2 remake. Ideally, we’ll see the same faithfulness to the source material pared with expansions to the story and environment.

RE4 remake platforms

What platforms Resident Evil 4 remake releases on depends primarily on its launch timing. We previously saw that Capcom wanted to launch Resident Evil: Village on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and exclude the PS4 and Xbox One. Only after fan feedback did they bring the game to previous-gen consoles. If RE4 remake launches in 2023, we could see it being current-gen only. If it comes out in late 2022, it might make it to PS4 and Xbox One due to continued console shortages.

One thing is for sure; it won’t come to Switch, at least not natively. The best Nintendo’s console can hope for is a Cloud version, as its hardware is much too weak to run any recent Resident Evil title.
