PUBG modified access to the lobby is detected

PUBG ‘Modified access to the lobby is detected’ error fix

The PUBG “Modified access to the lobby is detected” error seems to be hitting a lot of players when trying to log in and play the popular battle royale game, particularly on the test servers. After being out for several years, PUBG has finally gone free-to-play, so it’ll be incredibly frustrating for any players who are left trying to play, especially if they’re trying the game for the first time. Is there a fix for this annoying PUBG “Modified access” error?

How to fix the PUBG ‘Modified access to the lobby is detected’ error

PUBG modified access to the lobby is detected

To fix the PUBG: Battlegrounds “Modified access to the lobby is detected” error:

  • Continuously press the “reconnect” button multiple times, as players have reported the error message can go away after a few attempts.
  • Log out of PUBG entirely and restart the game and/or system.
  • Otherwise, players will simply have to be patient as the problem is caused by an issue with the servers, so it’s a matter of waiting for the problems to be fixed. Frequently check on the status of the PUBG servers as well as the game’s support account on Twitter to see if any problems are being reported and when they may be fixed.

This particular error message seems to mostly affect those trying to play the PUBG public test servers for some reason, but as outlined above, it’s still a matter of constantly retrying or being patient since it’s a server issue rather than anything to be done on the player’s side. Right now, of course, PUBG is experiencing a huge influx of players as the game has gone free-to-play at last — much like all of its competitors, like Fortnite and Apex Legends — so it’s not surprising there are issues with the servers as they’re probably overloaded. It’s going to be a matter of waiting for the issues to be fixed, unfortunately.

The free version of PUBG: Battlegrounds is available now.
