Hideo Kojima’s works attract a lot of fans, and his latest game was no different. Now, players want to know when we’ll see a Death Stranding 2 release date. Plenty of questions remained at the conclusion of the original game, and there’s definitely room for a sequel.
What’s the release date for Death Stranding 2?
We could see Death Stranding 2 release date as soon as 2023 or 2024. The original game was announced very early in its development but only took a little over two years to finish. It’s possible that Kojima Productions has already started working on a sequel to Death Stranding and might be revealing it anytime now.
From social media, it’s clear that Kojima remains in close contact with Norman Reedus, and the two obviously enjoyed their past collaborations. Rumors have abounded about the two working on a revived Silent Hills, but it’s more likely that Death Stranding 2 is in development or at least pre-production.
At the end of the original game, Sam Bridges manages to free Lou from the BB pod and goes off the grid. Fans might have noticed that at the conclusion, the rain isn’t Timefall and that a normal rainbow appears. That leaves us questioning whether Lou’s survival somehow reversed the effects of the Death Stranding. There’s also the matter of the newly revitalized United Cities of America hanging in the balance. Will the central government be able to pull the country together to begin humanity’s recovery from the Death Stranding? Higgs was only one of a number of separatists who will no doubt become more militant when faced with a stronger UCA.
What platforms will it release on?
We’d bet that Death Stranding 2 is a current-gen exclusive. Kojima will likely want to use the more powerful hardware to make an even more impressive experience. We also anticipate it’ll remain a Sony console exclusive. So, it’ll likely release on PS5 and PC.
