Fans are hoping to see a Persona 3 PC release date after the success of Persona 4: Golden. Some more optimistic fans are hoping for a full remaster of the game on Steam, with all the content from its various versions melded together in a cohesive package. So will we see Persona 3 release on Steam? Please read below for what we know so far.
What is the release date for Persona 3 on PC?
There’s no release date for Persona 3 on PC currently. Despite the success of the Persona 4: Golden port on Steam, Atlus hasn’t announced plans to bring any other main series Persona titles to the platform. However, fans shouldn’t necessarily give up hope that Persona 3 will come to Steam.
Unlike Persona 4, which only got one re-release in Golden, Persona 3 received two new editions, adding new content and making some changes to the base game. Unfortunately, neither is clearly superior to the other. Persona 3 FES adds content to the base game and an epilogue centered around the character Aigis. Persona 3 Portable lacks this new content but adds the ability to play as a female protagonist and makes vast improvements to the battle system.
Unfortunately, a straight port to PC wouldn’t do Persona 3 much justice. FES would be the obvious choice because of its better graphics, but fans would be disappointed about missing content from P3Portable. So, the best-case scenario here would be a remaster that combines elements of both versions into a definitive edition of Persona 3. That would take a lot more work than a simple port, so it could be in development, and Atlus just hasn’t announced it yet.
Given all the new fans the series has won in the last few years, it would be surprising if Atlus didn’t capitalize on a remaster of Persona 3. It’s likely just a matter of time before it’s announced.
