Persona 4 Release Date: Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox

Since the PC port launched on Steam, fans have been hoping for a Persona 4 release date on Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox. Given how successful it was, it seemed inevitable that the port would quickly make it to other platforms. Fortunately, there might not be that much longer to wait.

Will there be a Persona 4 release date for Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox?

Persona 4 release date consoles

Atlus hasn’t officially announced a Persona 4 release date for any new platforms. However, we’d be surprised if we didn’t hear about it coming to one or more consoles this year. 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Persona series, and bringing Persona 4 to Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox would be a great way to celebrate.

Before the Steam release, the game’s definitive version, Persona 4 Golden, could only be enjoyed on PlayStation Vita. While Persona 5 still (annoyingly) hasn’t made it off the PS4, Persona 4 was a great introduction to the series for many PC gamers. Hopefully, even more people will be able to play the game soon, especially since it’s getting more expensive to buy a Vita and a copy of Persona 4 and PC hardware prices have gone through the ceiling.

On the other hand, while we don’t know of any reason why there wouldn’t be a Persona 4 release date for consoles, Atlus can be weird with this sort of thing. It took Persona 4 12 years to get a PC port, and Persona 3 is still stuck on the PS2 and PSP. So, it’s entirely possible that the game inexplicably might not come to consoles.

Ironically, Persona 4 characters will be making it to consoles via a different route. A Persona 4 Arena Ultimax port is coming to PC, PS4, and Switch on March 17, 2022. Hopefully, this points to a further release of the original game in the near future.
