Will there be LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga crossplay support across all platforms? It’s finally been confirmed that the long-awaited and long-delayed new LEGO Star Wars game will finally release in April on all major gaming platforms, but the big question is whether play will be possible across those platforms. Is there going to be LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga cross-progression play on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Switch?
Is there LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga crossplay support?
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will most likely not launch with crossplay support as it currently does not even have online play of any kind, although crossplay and online co-op may get patched in at a later date.
Much like previous LEGO games, the latest and possibly greatest LEGO Star Wars game will only launch with offline couch or split-screen co-op — in fact, all the recent trailers and advertising have downplayed all notion of co-op, which has usually been the focus of all games in the LEGO series. Various store pages for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, such as PSN and Steam, confirm that co-op is possible but there are no online modes to speak of. So, crossplay between systems will be impossible until TT Games and Warner Bros Games make LEGO Star Wars playable online.
TT Games has confirmed that it does plan to add features to the game after launch, at least, such as ray tracing and the PS5 controller’s DualSense and haptic feedback support — so it’s entirely possible that online co-op and crossplay could be added later. If Star Wars fans want to play together online, for now, they’ll have to stick with something like Star Wars Battlefront II — so hopefully more Star Wars games with an online co-op campaign and crossplay will be coming in the future.
