Dark Souls fans will be familiar with Patches and will be looking to find his location in Elden Ring. Well, Patches is back, and once again has a secret shop with some unique items, including one that will help bring down a very tough foe. Read on to find where Patches hidden store is located.
Where is Patches in Elden Ring?
Patches can be found in Murkwater Cave in Elden Ring. Players can head there from the start of the game. However, the going is tough enough that many will want to level up their weapon a few times beforehand.
To find Murkwater Cave, players need to head north of Agheel Lake. Follow the riverbed under the bridge, and remember to give the skeletal soldiers an extra swipe when they’re down, so they don’t get back up.
Players can’t miss the entrance to Murkwater Cave because an NPC invasion will trigger as they approach it. Bloody Finger Nerijus is a fast opponent that can quickly make work of new players. Fortunately, players just need to get a few hits on him, and another NPC named Yuna will spawn to assist them in the fight. Those that find Nerijus too hard to take on can just run south toward Yuna and let him take over.
Once Nerijus is down, players can enter Murkwater Cave through the entrance on the west side of the riverbank wall. This is one of the smaller dungeons in the game, but it can turn deadly quickly. When entering the first chamber, players need to be wary of bell traps hidden in the grass. Trip one, and every bandit in the place will rush out to fight.
If players head right from the first chamber, they’ll find themselves in a large cavern with a treasure chest in the middle of it. Open the chest, and Patches will come out to fight. DO NOT summon any spirits here. Ranged attacks work best here, but he’s not too tough of an opponent. Once he takes a bit of damage, he’ll surrender. It’s important not to hit him while he’s doing this. Once the victory message is displayed, players can speak to Patches, and he’ll tell them he’s going to open a store.
Important: Players should not open the treasure chest by Patches. It will trigger a trap that warps them into Mistwood, which most players won’t be able to handle at this point.
Now, teleport back to the Site of Grace at the beginning of the cave and head back to Patches. Now, players can purchase from his secret shop. In particular, Margit’s Shackle is worth a buy since it’ll make a tough boss fight a bit easier. He also sells Stonesword Keys, which are needed to unlock areas covered in gray mist barriers.
