Diallos is one of the NPCs that players meet at the Roundtable Keep in Elden Ring. Unlike with some other NPC questlines, Diallos doesn’t show up in many locations, so it’s pretty easy to find him and continue his story. Unfortunately, his quest seems to abruptly end after he leaves Volcano Manor.
Where does Diallos go after leaving Volcano Manor in Elden Ring?
Update: The cut content below has been restored by the latest Elden Ring patch. To continue the Diallos questline, players should head to Jarburg and speak with Jar-Bairn. After exhausting his dialogue, fast travel back and speak with him again. After doing so a few times, Diallos will appear in a nearby building. Players having trouble progressing his quest past this point should rest at a Site of Grace (not just fast travel) and revisit him.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem as though Diallos storyline continues after he leaves Volcano Manor. After players take out the second target Tanith assigns, Diallos gets cold feet about being a recusant and assassinating other tarnished. From the start of his quest, Diallos was trying to play the role of a noble warrior who was a champion of his house. However, it becomes obvious that he was a charlatan. He realizes this and leaves Volcano Manor, but that’s the last we see of him in the game.
However, that’s not where his questline was meant to end. A datamine of the closed network test revealed an in-progress script for the game with several scenes no one has encountered yet.
It appears that players would have found Diallos in Jarburg after he left the manor:
“Oh? My friend, it’s been far too long.
I have to say you caught me at a rather low point.
But…as you see, I’ve put all that behind me.
Left the Volcano Manor. Forging my own path now. Making my own choices.
Even a fool like me can look after some simple jars.
Do you pity me? Well don’t. I feel like for the first time in my life I’m on the straight and narrow.”
It seems like his final fate would involve him giving his life to protect the jars, and the player might have helped him:
“…Ah, you…
Did I defend them?
Then all is well…
This fool proved his worth, in the end…”
There’s also dialog that indicates the player might have been the one to attack the jars under different circumstances as well as an ending where Diallos absconded from his duty to protect the jars before dying. It’s possible that the recusant questline would continue, and players would be asked to eliminate Diallos for betraying his oath.
Unfortunately, like with Alexander’s quest, it seems like several questlines that ended up in Jarburg were cut for some reason. There’s a chance they’re glitched or that they’ll be part of a DLC, but for now, it seems the story of Diallos ends in Volcano Manor.
