Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play hero shooter is known for rotating game modes every now and then that offer new experiences and challenges for its community, and Apex Legends Flashpoint LTM (Limited Time Mode) is one of them.
With this mode making a comeback in the Unshackled Event, which runs from April 19, 2022 to May 3, 2022, and being a mode that’s popular enough to make a return in a later season, let’s go through some of the features for Flashpoint LTM especially for those who haven’t experienced it yet.
What are the gameplay changes in Apex Legends Flashpoint LTM?
Flashpoint LTM first appeared in the Aftermarket Collection Event featured in Season 6, which lasted from October 6, 2020 to October 20, 2020. While it’s unclear if the mode will be changed in any way (apart from the map) in the Unshackled Event, here’s some info based on the mode’s first appearance.
In Flashpoint ATM, healing items do not spawn, making traversal around the map quite precarious. In order to heal, you need to enter blue spherical fields scattered around the map called flashpoints, which will (after a slight delay) quickly regenerate your health and shields over time. As such, you can expect many players to choose certain Legends like Lifeline, Octane, and Wattson who have certain abilities that can restore health and/or shields outside of these flashpoints.
The closing circle in Flashpoint LTM is standard, continually getting smaller and smaller but always centered on a flashpoint by the end. As you can imagine, this can force a rather hectic battle in the last minute of the match as all players will have regenerating health and shields.
That said, you’ll still be able to craft Phoenix Kits at Replicators for a quick health and shield restore, and place down Mobile Respawn Beacons since all regular Respawn Beacons are removed from the map in the mode too.
Whereas the Flashpoint LTM was featured on the Kings Canyon map in the Aftermarket Event, this time around the mode will be played on the Olympus map in the Unshackled Event. As the Aftermarket Event awarded badges for beating certain challenges, like winning a certain number of Flashpoint games, you can expect more Flashpoint-specific badges to be earned in the Unshackled Event.
