Naughty Dog fans have been furiously searching for any information about The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Edition restock and whether it’s sold out. Since the remake was announced at Summer Game Fest 2022 (and was actually leaked a few hours before the event started), the special Firefly Edition of the remake for PS5 has been a hot item. In fact, within mere hours of this version of the game being available for pre-order through PlayStation Direct, it was confirmed that the Firefly Edition was sold out.
When will The Last of Us Part 1 Firefly Edition be restocked?
So far, there’s little indication of when this edition will be available again through PlayStation Direct. Sony likely expected that pre-orders for it would be snatched up quickly, but has yet to make any announcement or reaction to this. Luckily, unlike the PS5 which has its own issues with supply chains and is available through numerous outlets, the Firefly Edition is exclusive to PlayStation Direct so you will only need to check one place for the chance of a restock.
Since The Last of Us Part 1 releases in less than three months on September 2, we would be surprised if the Firefly Edition is not restocked at least once before that date. In fact, Sony could be intentionally staggering restocks to prevent scalpers from grabbing all of the pre-orders in one fell swoop. Otherwise, if you really want the Firefly Edition, you’ll likely have to buy it closer to the release date through third-party sites like eBay at a much higher price tag than the official $99.99 MSRP.
If you’re able to secure a pre-order for the game on PlayStation Direct, free launch day delivery is available. It is unclear if there will be a Firefly Edition for the future PC release of the game, but this might present another opportunity to score a copy.
