Fans are curious about how old Chun-Li is in Street Fighter 6. Obviously, this entry in the series takes place much later than Street Fighter 5 did, but how much time has passed? We’ll take a look at what Chun-Li’s age could be in SF6.
What’s Chun-Li’s age in Street Fighter 6?
We know that Chun-Li was born on March 1, 1968. That would make her 55 if Street Fighter 6 takes place in the same year it’s released, 2023. However, the Street Fighter chronology is a bit weird. The timeline for the games is:
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter II
- Street Fighter IV
- Street Fighter V
- Street Fighter III
- Street Fighter 6
Unfortunately, Capcom hasn’t stated that any of the games take place in a specific year. So, pinpointing Chun-Li’s age in SF6 is nearly impossible. She’s been a fighter since Street Fighter 2, and her earliest chronological appearance was Street Fighter Alpha 2. She’s been available as a fighter in almost every game, so she has a lot of combat experience.
Chun-Li’s Street Fighter 6 art doesn’t make her look 55, but she’s definitely wearing a more subdued and mature outfit than she has in past games. She’s also moved into a teaching role and runs her own dojo. Given the information at hand, we’d estimate she’s in her early-to-mid forties. However, that’s just an estimate and shouldn’t be taken as law. Given how athletic she is, it’s entirely possible that she is indeed in her fifties. Alternatively, she could be in her thirties. There’s just no way to tell without Capcom giving us some better clues as to what year SF6 takes place.
Unfortunately, the same can be said of the rest of the Street Fighter cast. We have birthdates for many of them but no way to track their age because of the ambiguous timeline.
