After his highly publicized lawsuit against Amber Heard concluded, many fans had hoped that Disney would apologize to Johnny Depp. The company fired Depp from his role as Captian Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, but that apparently hasn’t kept the company from capitalizing on his likeness. As recent as this week, Depp’s Jack Sparrow was used in a projection show in Disneyland Paris. With Depp’s win against Heard, fans are perplexed that Disney hasn’t said sorry yet.
Will Disney say sorry to Johnny Depp?

After Depp recently won his $50 million defamation against Heard, fans assumed that Disney would come to its senses and at least bury the hatchet. However, there’s no indication that the company has reached out to Depp. Despite this, it continues to use his likeness as the frontman for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Depp has managed to pull a 180 in the public eye. Many of Heard’s former supporters changed their opinion of her story after seeing the evidence from the recent lawsuit. Heard continues to claim that her 2018 Washington Post op-ed was truthful and that she was a victim of domestic violence. However, her assertions have been less than compelling as evidence of her abusive behavior toward Depp and others has become known.
Many of the same fans petitioning for Depp’s return to the character of Jack Sparrow are also crying for Heard to be dismissed in her role of Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. There have been rumors that Warner Brothers has decided in both directions. Some say she’ll get more time in the movie, while others say the role is being eliminated or recast.
It’s doubtful that Disney will apologize to Depp. The best fans can hope for is that it’ll cast him as Jack Sparrow again and pretend as if nothing happened.
